Indefinite NDA - Intern Contract Pls Help

Hi, I'm spending my summer at a series B startup (ignore title) that works on something that i would be interested in exploring in the future (i.e. i want to work on the same kind of problem, with a similar solution but one that works differently). I thought this internship would be a stepping stone to learning how the startup ecosystem in that industry works, so that I could later build something of my own.

However, I was handed the contract a few days ago and it mentions an indefinite NDA + non-solicitation. So I can't reach out to the same investors for funding? Their clients are the kind of clients I would either be reaching out to or working for (if I chose traditional job).

This feels wrong to me but I have no point of reference and do not know any lawyers. Could someone please guide me?

thank you so much. im trying to understand if this would preclude me from starting my own venture in the same space (i.e. AI for x industry).

yeah i turned down the offer after they refused to change the terms (they insisted on at least a year for non-solicitation and NDA + IP issues). thanks so much : )

no summer job now but im going to spend it building instead.
