Investment Banking to Venture Capital

I was hoping that someone could shed some light on making this move. Recently decided that when it does come time to leave IB, my primary goal is to work for a VC firm.

I have been looking through my network but have been having trouble finding anyone in the industry to connect with. Would appreciate any insight from people who have made the move..

  1. Is it difficult to move from IB?
  2. What are some good ways to network outside of your personal network (does cold reaching out work, similar to IB)?
  3. Have you enjoyed the transition etc.

I’m not too worried about a decrease in comp just want to do something I enjoy.
