Is founding a startup or founding a HF more likely to make you wealthy (100MM+)?

While working at a sizable HF makes you more money than almost any desk job in the world, it is not going to make you truly wealthy unless you get made PM, which is highly unlikely. The path to true riches lies in starting your own successful HF.

Becoming truly wealthy from either starting a HF or a startup (i.e. in tech) is very hard with low odds. If becoming wealthy is your end goal, however, which path would you say would lead to higher chances/be the better path to take?
