Is there any ways to get through PE/VC/HF without doing IB?
Title. (I'm still in undergrad school)
I just know that it doesn't suit me working 15 hour weekdays and still go to office on the weekends, I can't perform well in my job if I have to stay full time at the office. Better to avoid than try and sorry.
Still, I would love to go into PE, even starting at analyst or associate level would work for me. Is there any way I could break into PE or VC by bypassing the Banking route? Attending top MBAs? Networks and recommendations from the MBA program? Or any careers (apart from IB) that have a pathway to PE/VC?
I thought ER would do the job for future HF because I will be used to analyzing the market. but for PE? What would be the light in the dark?
You gotta work in pe too buddy
I mean, I've heard that experience in IB is one thing that makes your application to PE firms. (aside of MBA or networks)
you will have to pull 15+ hours days and work weekends in PE is what we are trying to tell you. there's no such thing as a quick an easy way to make a lot of money
