Job Opportunity in Investment Banking or VC

If anybody can give me any recommendation sorry for this long message....

I have been in a very bad situation, the last 5 years due to my immigration status to get my Green Card, it has affected my career goals and affected me professionally, and I can not sleep and envy my american friends. I always wanted to get into Analyst postion in a Investment Banking field, but when I graduated from school finishing my B.B.A from Monmouth University in New Jersey, I did get some offers but unable to take it due to H1-B sponsorship, because those firm unwilling to sponsor for my Green Card, but while my american friends went in a normal route. So after 2001 to stay in the U.S.A legally I decided to go and do a MBA not from the top school because I did not have enough time to improve my GMAT scores, it was all about legally stay in the U.S.A. After 2002, I got into Technology firm, where they sponsored my Green Card. My job basically dealt with mostly accounting, budgeting and finance, and business analysis totally different to what I studied in school. I did learn but that was not the route I wanted to take, but I had no choice

Now with my Green Card in hand, I want to start my career from scratch, so I just recently took Investment Banking Institute to enhance the skills sets to Comparables, Precedents, LBO,M&A and financial modelling. These insititute fixed my resume like a investment Banking resume. They even spoke and recommended only career sollution is try to get into 1-2 year Analyst into small regional niche market into Technology fund, because you are coming from a technology backgroung, and that will be the only sollution. I know market is very hard in the U.S.A, but I am open to work anywhere in U.S.A, even if that means I have to start from scratch my investment banking career and make very litlle money, even if that means non-paid internship. I see lot of employee discriminate as only prefer PRE-MBA for VC or Small hedge, but they do not know I willing to work for less. I thought this is a land of opportunity and you can choose any career you decide at any age. If I am motivated why not give me a chance, even if that means an internship to open the door. Please someone give some advice for a career transition. I know I am 28 years old, but what could I have done last 8 year including my schooling I could not gone the normal route because I was an international student and worker.

I did get contact of head-hunter and contact information through IBI, I have applied but so far no luck. My gut feeling is head-hunter prefer only experience banker in the field, even if I have 5 years of experience but I have no investment banking experience so for them it is as if entry level job.

All I want to get into a door and get solid experience and then maybe I do another MBA specializing in GLOBAL MBA, but first I need to get into the industry.

Someone please give me advice because I am very hard worker

Atish
