MBA into Growth Equity
I'm curious as to whether it's feasible to break into growth equity without a pre-MBA background in IB. I come from a tech background but didn't do finance (FAANG SWE). I missed the boat on the big pre-IPO companies this year (Airbnb, Robinhood, etc.) and want to increase the ceiling on my income by moving into growth equity. My game plan was to hopefully get into a strong MBA program and transition into Growth Equity after doing a summer IB associate stint to cover the modeling. Is this a feasible goal, or has growth equity become too crowded?
