Moving after MBA to PE/VC/IB
I am currently doing my MBA at one of the Indian Institutes of Management, (not the top 3 elite but can be in the top 20 Indian B-Schools). One of the unique things about IIMs is that they do admit freshers and fortunately or unfortunately, I am one, having directly come across from being an IT Engg. Graduate.
I have been doing this part-time investment analyst work for a UK based Seed VC firm and want to get into PE/VC/IB (eventually IB or some client facing roles or equity research role). So how difficult would it be for me to get into a finance role into any VC/IB/PE/Investment firm located across US or the UK? Can anybody guide me as to how to get into them (like whether to do CFA/FRM or not or any certification etc) ?
