PE>CD>CD>Business School top 10?>VC

Do you think I can get into a top 10 MBA program? Did PE (1yr) at a no name firm 50mm aum, then CD (.75 year) at a 16 billion dollar services company, now CD and Strategy at a 1B but high growth company (Pre-IPO)(1yr). I'd like to do VC then join a growing startup.

URM GMAT: 690 UGPA 2.9 Top state University EC: Started a national non-profit and hold leadership positions at two other non-profits LR: Partners of PE firm, CFO/CEO current company, President of 100 year old non profit and multiple other high level government officials.

I have a weird, yet unique background and only got my ducks in a row after I graduated and started using my network. That's why I have no idea if I have a shot at any top MBA programs. My gpa is killing me otherwise I think I could get into 50% of the top 10.

Do I have a shot?

I think you really need to retake the GMAT. I can see this playing at Top 10 schools if you can get a 720+ given solid work experience and URM but I think it is going to be tough for schools to swallow the 2.9 with a sub 700 GMAT.

As others have said here, retake the GMAT. You have a solid professional/leadership background but it isn't so unique or extraordinary enough compared to other applicants that adcoms will overlook your GMAT or GPA. Right now, you're borderline for the top 8 schools.

Retake the GMAT. With a 720+ and you're more in range, and ideally a 740+ given your low GPA. Do whatever it takes to boost that score. Good luck
