Potential Renege Situation - PE/VC Longterm Goal

I recently accepted a junior year internship offer in S&T at a top supermajor energy company. My short term career goal is to make it into investment banking with PE/VC afterward ideally not in energy as I have no true draw to it. I was just given a super day at a Fortune 10 company in corporate development and I am hoping to hear thoughts on what opportunity would provide the best chance of getting into the best IB firm for full-time.

My thought is that S&T is more on the same level as IB and therefor I can go into energy IB and from there try to lateral to a different vertical after my first year. My uninformed perception is that corporate development is a step below IB, but I could be wrong. I also know that in corporate development I would get modeling experience which would be valuable, but I will also try for an off-cycle internship at a boutique firm in the coming months. If I would renege (which I am not a fan of doing), I would accept at the Fortune 10 corporate development and then try to do full-time investment banking in the same industry as the Fortune 10 company.

If you went full-time IB after doing S&T or CD I would love to hear your thoughts. Cross-posting on a few different subforums - sorry in advance. Thanks!
