Vision fund is a joke. Returns are horrible, and they have a terrible reputation in the industry. Masa's been able to attract talent in the past because they are very generous with cash comp (no one gets carry there from what I hear), and during bull periods, Masa will approve basically anything with a pulse, so it's easy to get deals done if you want to build a track record. But Masa's super volatile, so deal flow will be hot and cold depending on his mood. Right now they are not investing in anything since he's become super conservative. I would stay far away from there.

Gonna stay general here but I work on the vision fund in some capacity and our partner had a meeting w/ Masa I was note-taking for. There was a translator helping w/ communication and our Partner made a comment about a disagreement we had w/ some value assertions, that we could not support any of the values. Masa, through his translator, said that his investments "are like water, how could value water? what is the value of water to the human race. that is what my investments are".

Safe to say he is a little disconnected from reality, lmfao.

Bump. Any insight into comp? Would working there give you a bad rep in the industry?
