Startup quant funds

I'm a sophomore in high school currently and have interest in an algo trading internship/ shadow, nothing paid. I've tried connecting with devs and traders from the well-known firms on Linkedin (jane street, hrt, etc.) but they're not able to help me due to their extreme confidentiality. I have python experience and would guess I'd have more luck with startup quant firms, but can't seem to find any. Does anyone know where I can find such a list?

Unrelated topic but I'm also interested in vc. If you happen to know any startup vc firms, please let me know. Thanks.

Good on you for finding an interest this early bro. Try to get into a target school first tho. Internships will come later, for now just make sure you have a really good GPA, close to perfect SAT/ACT, good ECs, and that you're creating longstanding relationships with teachers that will write rec letters for you so that you can best position yourself for internships.

I'm also a HS sophomore and I'm more interested in the VC side of things and I've managed to land two internships, one at a start-up and one at a VC. Both look good on paper, but neither were that fruitful in terms of experience (phenomenal networking opps tho). No one trusts a 15,16 year old to do much. Even if you do get that internship in algo trading, it probably won't help too much.

That's what I was thinking, I wouldn't be able to do much but it would look great for college/resume. Do you mind telling the places you interned? How did you get the internships, like LinkedIn or just emailing places until someone said yes?
