Susquehanna Growth Equity - 2020?
Does anyone know anything about this firm? Is it viewed upon as prestigious? If I had an offer in banking vs. this firm what would I do?

Career Resources
They're a very solid group and a recognizable name in the growth equity world for sure. Mostly saas/fintech. They invest off the SIG balance sheet which has pros/cons (e.g. never have to worry about fundraising, but that also means you don't have any exposure to learning about fundraising, dealing with LPs, etc.). Credit Karma was a huge recent exit.
Only you can answer SGE vs. banking offer which would depend on what you want to do. Tons of threads on here about buyside vs. banking right out of undergrad.
Thanks for this, very helpful information!
SGE is a good shop. The entry level roles at SGE will be sourcing heavy. So, if you don't like cold calling/emailing founders and CEOs, then it might not be a great fit.
Interesting.. would Corp dev/tech finance still be considered an exit opp. if starting in a role like this straight from undergrad?
Yeah definetly although I don't know how acquisitive SGE portfolio companies are. I'm also not exactly sure how it works once you've found an opportunity. I would guess that the junior who sourced also participates in the diligence. However, you are probably better suited for corp dev/tech finance with IB experience.
Great shop. If your goal is to end up on the direct investing side and are self motivated to learn, I have no idea why you would take a banking offer over SGE.
Thanks for the perspective. Thinking the same thing.
Feel like growth equity and VC are more degrees removed from IB->MM to MF PE, so it makes more sense to go to VC out of UG if that’s what you want to do.
However, rare it would be to go to a VC / GE shop that gives execution experience ThAts good. So there’s still valid reasons for going to a bank to get execution and other such types of experience.
