They're a very solid group and a recognizable name in the growth equity world for sure. Mostly saas/fintech. They invest off the SIG balance sheet which has pros/cons (e.g. never have to worry about fundraising, but that also means you don't have any exposure to learning about fundraising, dealing with LPs, etc.). Credit Karma was a huge recent exit.

Only you can answer SGE vs. banking offer which would depend on what you want to do. Tons of threads on here about buyside vs. banking right out of undergrad.

 

Feel like growth equity and VC are more degrees removed from IB->MM to MF PE, so it makes more sense to go to VC out of UG if that’s what you want to do.

However, rare it would be to go to a VC / GE shop that gives execution experience ThAts good. So there’s still valid reasons for going to a bank to get execution and other such types of experience.
