Switch from Growth Equity to Private Equity
I am considering accepting a SA2020 internship at a top 10 growth equity firm. It does not seem the job is very technical, more so related to soft skills.
How hard of a time would it be to switch to a more standard PE firm as an associate? I would be behind on technicals, but surely that can be learnt?
Don't do it. PM me for more details
SA 2020 meaning Summer Analyst or Summer Associate (i.e are you an undergrad or an MBA student)? If the former, I don't see how it's relevant as a PE associate position is a few years down the road for you. If the latter, growth equity is extremely different from PE and it would undoubtedly be more difficult for you to make the switch.
