Top Tier VC Comp?
What would VC comp at tier 1 firms (e.g. IVP, a16z, sequoia, benchmark) look like at an assoc level (e.g. 2 years out of consulting or ib). I’ve seen things saying iconiq and insight is around 350k but I haven’t found much else info online about comp at top tier VC and not so much growth. For reference, looking to skip on cycle and recruit off cycle for these opportunities but want to know what type of comp I can expect
if anyone has a hard datapoint, would greatly appreciate
Believe that Sequoia is 300-350K base cash comp and Lightspeed is ~225-250K base cash comp. Would assume a16z falls closer to sequoia than lightspeed.
very interesting, so essentially in line with mega fund PE although these roles are much harder to land I would assume
Yeah - though as associate you’d get a good amount of carry as well at these places typically
and much harder to land a spot. We are talking maybe sub 100 positions vs many thousands
Why is lightspeed so low? Would’ve expected to be in line with sequoia?
Also am surprised but may have to do with sequoia having more than double the AUM
I should be recruiting for VP of Fundraising god damn
a16z Closer to LSVP
Would guess that An2 in PE LBOs is pulling numbers out of their ass lol
IVP pays very well at the associate level from what ive heard
Any ballpark ranges? Talking like north of 350?
