Trying to get a job at a small VC that only employees 6 GPs

Hi guys, tomorrow I have a call with a GP at a sector-specific VC fund. Without a doubt they are one of a few funds that I would drop everything and give my 20s to for a job. They had fund I (~$100m) in 2015, and fund 2 (~$200m) in 2017. It's a lean shop with only 6 GPs and no junior employees.

I have a call with one of the GPs tomorrow as I cold emailed to ask for career advice and to talk about his career since it's a path that interests me. I'm wondering how I broach the subject of whether they will ever hire junior employees. How would I go about this? Do I outright ask? In this case, I would do anything to work there, but would also like to keep in touch with the contact because he would be a valuable mentor (went to the grad school I want to go to, a fellowship program I'm interested in, etc.)

Thanks so much as always.
