Upstream from VC
Hi Guys,
I recently landed an Analyst gig at a well known early stage VC firm and I'm ecstatic. That said, I'm concerned about falling into the early stage niche as an investor or down the line as an operator. Can anyone speak to the transition from early VC to Late stage VC, growth equity, or Lower MM PE? Also, what would my post-MBA options be should I go straight from my early stage fund position? The role is primarily non-sourcing consisting of a mix of deal negotiation, execution, and portfolio operations. Thanks in advance for the input.

Your transition will come from your experience in exiting portfolio companies to later stage VCs. You'll have the experience in spotting exceptional investments because you've worked with enough in a specific area to understand the dynamics of transitioning early-stage companies to growth-oriented companies.
