Venture Capital / Growth Equity Pipeline

Hey Everyone,
I was wondering if anyone had insight into the recruiting process for vc/ge equity firms out of banking. I'm not entirely sure how it works or if there is even a specific path or pipeline. I understand that growth equity recruiting works somewhat like traditional pe recruiting but I've also heard otherwise. If anyone has gone through recruiting for either and has some insight I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks!
