What can I do to maximize my chances to VC
Hi everyone, I’m a incoming first year mathematics+Phil student to Univ of Oxford and my end goal is VC in the Bay Area. What can I do to maximize my current plan is: 1. After freshman year, I already secured a Corp dev internship at a startup in the Bay Area 2. Get a sophomore internship at a top MM or bb in London, get this by end of freshman 3.transfer after freshman year to a top target in the US. 4. Network, work hard, and keep my gpa up to get a top junior year internship-> ft offer etc...
Anything else other than hoping for the best?

VC hiring process is so different depending on the firm. What kind of VC exactly?
Some have a hard on for ex-operators/founders, others for those with a background in ibanking/PE and then some with a mix. Really depends on the firm's philosophy and size.
Generally speaking the larger the firm and the larger the rounds they fund the more they skew towards hiring ex-ibankers/PE guys.
I definitely want to start a company after ib and before b school, so I think I’ll hit both of those requirements. I haven’t thought abt which kind of VC yet tho
