If I remember correctly, there was a separate WSO forum for venture capital, a few months ago. Seems like WSO just merged it with this PE forum. I guess the VC forum wasn't active enough?

I noticed the same thing yesterday. You'd click on VC and it would redirect you to the PE forum. As of this morning, VC is removed from the drop-down forum listing and all the threads from both forums are intermingled.
It makes sense. It was one of the least trafficked forums here. There was also an ongoing issue where people with questions about growth equity would struggle to choose where to post their thread (or even cross-post into both).
