What salary would you expect for a startup "controller" type role?
I am interviewing with a high tech startup that is looking to bring on their first finance employee. They were using an outsourced CFO, but want more done internally now. The role can grow into the CFO role in a few years. The duties include forecasting, budgeting, dealing with investors, raising funds, KPIs and many other adhoc tasks. They recently raised $5M and will be doubling head count within the year.
I did 2 years mm banking and 2 years corp dev. I do not live in NYC/SF.
At the moment, what minimum base do you think I should aim for? Equity may be part of the equation.
