What might you have done to illicit such intense responses? People don't just harass and shout at others without provocation.

If every woman VC you've met seems to have a problem with you, it's likely because you're the problem.

Happy to be proven wrong but I'm not taking this misogynistic complaint at face value without more context.

  1. the provocation was it was supposed to be a one hour call and we spoke for only five minutes, i said bye. they then called me back two minutes later, and without saying anything shouted at me. it was like picking up the phone to get shouted at.
  2. another one, we DMd for six months, i met them before years ago but I think they forgot, i asked to meet, then they said i was being manipulative, i asked why, then i then told them who to contact to prove what i've said, they retracted their claim.
  3. another one i spoke to, told them that i don't think it's a good idea to go in a certain direction, they began shouting at me as well.

aside from the call, i have screenshots of this. i can probably get my carrier to give call records to show call time, and who called who, but it's not necessary i think. i assume what drives this is an insecurity thing, but it's becoming a problem i've noticed.

guy VCs never do this kind of thing. they are kind of fake, but my fears of their insincerity have never actualized. there have been some woman vcs relative to men that are more kind, eager and competent though. i don't mean to be misogynistic, but i think there's a career funnel woman VCs tend to follow, that i think propels them into such a male dominated field, and it kind of leads to them being different than guys i think since their background, and path to vc are different.
