Exclusive financial advisor vs financial advisor in M&A?

Was looking at PWP’s deals and I see this terminology used often, but mostly just financial advisor. What does this mean exactly? Are there multiple financial advisors for a M&A transaction? How much does the work change between being exclusive and not exclusive? Sorry for the dumb question but genuinely curious the details in this.

Thanks! For exit opp recruiting, do you know if it matters if I work on exclusive vs non exclusive financial advisor?

Would advise learning to google and figure things out independently before thinking about exit opps. Not trying to be mean, just some advice for the finance world.

That is what I did and there isn’t exactly information regarding the difference in M&A. If it is so easy to Google then instead of typing a useless reply then just send the links or give a simple explanation. I already have the offer so stop being pretentious and either help or don’t say anything.

Wow ok dude. It’s pretty straightforward to look at large deal press releases and see there are multiple advisors. Not sure why you’re so mad

No shit there are multiple advisors. Clearly you lack reading comprehension because I’m asking the specifics of that and what the type of work they entail. If you’re not gonna provide useful info and help other people out then just stfu.
