Haven’t Heard Back From My Superday

I had a Superday on 10/23 for a BB for a junior year wealth management internship and I thought it went really well. On 10/30 I received a phone call from someone at the BB who said they wanted to let me know they are behind in their process and normally they’d be updating people the end of the week but now it’s looking towards the following week. She said the team really enjoyed talking with me and that while this isn’t an offer this is a better phone call that what other people have received that day. She then proceeded to ask if I had any other offers and if so when I needed to let them know by. I told them I had another offer that I needed to give an answer to at the end of November but that this position was my top choice so I am waiting to hear back before I make decisions. Should I read into this phone call? I am so nervous and I really want this internship and I’m not sure what to think about this conversation. Do you think I should follow up?

That’s definitely a good call if she said it was. I would still continue to recruit but hopefully they get back to you soon. I think that you could potentially be an alternate candidate and they are waiting to hear from another before making a decision. I wouldn’t say it’s bad news but totally understand your position. Need to normalize giving candidates timely responses.
