How hard is it to go from PWM to IB??

How hard is this move? Currently a SA in PWM at a BB. What do I have to do to show during networking with IB that I am up for the move and can do it? Does the COVID shortened internship inhibit the mobility in your opinion?

Small sample size but I tried this at a BB and failed. I was trying to lateral for FT, probably would be slightly easier if you're a current soph trying to switch for next summer.

I think generally speaking it's difficult from a numbers/competition perspective -- SAs receiving returns, candidates from other internal groups, more qualified external candidates, etc. That being said, I didn't network with IB and relied instead on strong recs from managers within my group. Odds would be boosted if you increase the number of IB heads vouching for you.
