IBD to PWM

I just recently wrapped up my first year of investment banking, and I have known for a while that the job really isn't for me. I have no interest in doing the traditional PE/HF exit. I have always been interested in PWM or Private banking but never pulled the trigger on just because of the lack of information / clarity on the role.

I am from a small town in the south east and a lot of people who are work in "pwm" just essentially sell junk to their friends and families and never had any interest in this. I would love to hear more about people that either work in PWM or have moved into PWM. How do you see the industry? How is your lifestyle? What type of clients do you work for? How do you move into a role where you get to work with high-net worth individuals?

@thebrofessor" would love to hear some of your insight or advice.
