Telling People at PWM/Other Internship Position You're More Interested in Wall St.
Is it a faux pas to talk about preferring to work in S&T or IB while working as a summer intern in PWM at a bank that doesn't have a lot of business in IB? Or, if you get asked where you see yourself in 5 years in an interview for such a position?
It seems to me like these internship programs are designed to keep you with the company year after year until you graduate (if they like you), when might be expected to take a full time job. So are aspirations to more competitive positions a topic to avoid?
Thanks!
GIve them what they want to hear. Say PWM or you aren't sure but you know you want to be in finance.
