URGENT: Wealth Management or Financial Law?
I am a sophomore deciding between two fall internships: one in the Wealth Management division at MassMutual, and one at a USNWR ranked tier 1 financial services law firm. At MassMutual, I would be mainly doing client database entry (Salesforce) and sitting in on meetings with clients. At the law firm, I would be part of the Business Development/Marketing team, compiling case studies and helping maintain existing relationships with clients (which include the top 10 banks).
I already have an internship at a venture capital boutique, and I'm hoping this second one will complement that internship. I am looking to get a summer IB internship with the ultimate goal of ending up in PE or HF. From the responses I got in a previous post, it seems that WM experience provides little to no edge on a resume. On top of that, I already did an investment advisory internship last summer, so I'm leaning towards the financial law internship, especially because of the connections I could potentially make. But I want to make sure I'm making the right decision. Thoughts? What are the pros/cons of each?
