Wealth Management --> TS Big4 --> MBA --> IB

Hello Everybody,

I am Italian and this is my first post here, although I have been reading WSO during the last year. This is my situation: I am a graduate from Bocconi university (#1 University in Italy and among top in EU) and I am working in Wealth Management at UBS in Milan. I really don't like the Job, too focused on markets and not so dynamic (very long hours doing nothing actually.) I'd like to approach m&a but the thing is that, here in Italy, it is impossible to get a direct placement (and also, very few interns are offered a full time analyst position). I have been abroad for the last two years and I would like to stay in Italy a bit. Recently I have been applying around and I got a full time offer from KPMG, for m&a transaction services. The salary is not exceptional of course (compared to IB or mgmt consulting) but it seems there something good. I think i will learn a lot doing basically financial due diligenece and research on companies of different sectors. My idea would be to work there for 2 years and then apply to a MBA in US. Do you think a path like these would permit me to try IB as an associate or a position in a HF/PE once finished the master?

Thank you!
