Same at my bank for first years, can't speak to the others. Also MM IBD. I am not a first year but I'm hearing the chatter.
Would also be helpful if people noted if these figures were higher or lower than the previous year at their firm (if known). Anyone else get numbers yet?
Heard from someone at a MM IBD: 1st year: 40k - 55k 2nd year: 60k - 75k
1st year: 45k - 55k 2nd year: 60k - 70k
MM IBD. Higher than last year across the board.
This is strictly bonus or base + bonus? If 22 year olds are getting 45-60k first year bonuses at any WS firms that's pretty sweet. Is that taxed at your income rate?
Do you really thinking people would work 80 hours a week for 60k total?
More importantly, how are you an intern if you don't even have an estimate of comp.
All bonuses are taxed at ~40% when you receive them but you will get the differential back on your tax return.
The tax depends on what state you live in. So if you live in TX with no state income tax bonuses will be taxed around 33% however in NY it will be taxed a little over 40%. Your employer can withhold at the supplemental rate of 25% or include the bonus as part of the regular wages for the pay period and use regular withholdings.
Any updates on analyst comp?
Think most people on here are quoting MM IBD. Anyone have updated data?
