2016 FT Recruiting in Asia (HK, Singapore)
Hello,
I will be doing an investment banking SA internship at a SOE bank in Shanghai, China. The firm, to my knowledge, doesn't give return offers, so I will end up having to recruit for full-time.
Ideally, I would like to enter Hong Kong or Singapore full-time for investment banking. I understand most banks just hire back their summer class, which leaves me wondering whether there will still be opportunities at the end of summer.
Anyone who has been through a similar situation or has insight, your responses are appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Are you mainland based? Where do you go to school? FT process usually starts in Sep/Oct. Similar to SA recruiting, it has online application, first rounds, second rounds, then superdays/AC.
They will definite be openings at BB, not every BB but most will have spots not filled by interns. The bigger question is your qualification. Is your summer internship in IBD? Most people have at least 2 IBD internships after junior year summer so your experience will make a difference at this point.
Good luck
Thanks for the reply.
I'll be in the DCM part of IBD (this bank incorporates ECM and DCM in their IBD). I attend a top 3 school (Ivey/Schulich/Queens) in Canada right now. How is the competition for the non BB's like Standard, Nomura, etc.?
Bump
Insight please?
