2023 SA Diversity Question - Disability

I’m applying to 2023 SA opportunities and have a dilemma. I’m a non-diversity candidate by traditional means (white/Asian male), but have a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease that causes debilitating pain for a few months per year. A lot of firms (in their option to self identify as diverse) have criteria for being “physically disabled”. Now I’m not really physically disabled, I’m a competitive athlete, but would my disease qualify me to check this box? Im not sure what to think about the situation. Assuming no but not really sure…

You can’t self qualify a disability. Look up online what is considered a disability, probably at the Office of Disability Employment or ADA.

Most likely it won’t count as a disability unless it qualifies for Social Security Disability Insurance

Yeah that's what my first thought was too. My disease is so rare there's no directory online that states if it qualifies me for SS benefits. I think I'd have to apply and see if it qualifies but that sounds like a nightmare. Edit: after research it appears I likely could qualify, my symptoms are functionally equivalent to chronic arthritis, but would I need to actually do the process in order to identify as such on apps?
