Acquisition Finance / LevFin Group to GE/VC?

Currently in an Acquisition Financing group at a large international bank. Most analysts with these roles exit to either credit funds or Direct Lending shops. 

I've worked on a few tech deals, but how would I sell this role to growth equity / VC funds? Seems most associates come from sell side advisory TMT groups, whereas my experience is mostly on the financing side. 

Not interested in lateralling to another bank, as I started school late as is and don't want to be an analyst in these years of my life. Would gaining operating experience / Corp Dev at a tech or SaaS co. help position me better? B - school maybe? Appreciate any insight.
