Any advice for moving to LA in your late 20s?
I'm in my late 20s, grew up in New England, went to a semi-target, ~3 years banking at an EB and then ~3 years at a credit fund, and now going to move out to LA to work at another credit fund. I'm primarily moving for the job opportunity, but think the non-job aspects (weather, lifestyle, etc) will be great as well.
I've only been out there once (for my superday) and only know ~3 people who already live there (and none of them well). I spent some time googling around for "moving to LA" but most of the advice seems to for actors or people in entertainment, so does anyone have good advice for moving to and living in LA?
I live in LA. Life is nice here. Sunny and warm. You will love it if you are single. Plenty of opportunities.
I second this. Very ideal place to be if you're single. If you're not single, Orange County or San Diego would likely be more enjoyable.
Most accurate depiction of SoCal. LA is for the fun party scene, OC is for the family settling down. Laguna Beach is a hidden gem, definitely my favorite place to go.
+1. Laguna Beach is the best beach in SoCal. Very underrated.
Biggest lifestyle tip I can offer is to live near where you work to avoid commuting as much as possible.
