Well, I know one thing some people do successfully at my school is match colors with the firm they are interviewing for. E.g. solid green tie for Deloitte.

There are so many threads asking if slightly controversial clothing choices are fine for interviews. You should always look at the benefits versus the cost. WIll wearing something "edgy" make you appear different? Yes it will. Now consider it will either be different good (won't offset a bad performance) or difference bad (could hurt a good performance). Always go conservative in finance.
I've worn a darker green brooks brothers previously and I think it's been an acceptable choice. As always I would advise be mindful of color brightness and sheen.
i can't think of any piece of formal wear (for a man) where green would look good except for subtle emerald cufflinks (set in sterling silver) on the right color shirt, and a very dark green dress shirt under a charcoal jacket
non formal wear... anything with a sonics logo looks good

Yeah, but interview attire is not formal wear...
But in general I agree that green should rather be avoided. I could see a point if you were to interview @ Deloitte or BCG ;) If the green is muted it might be ok.

If you have a favorite tie that makes you feel more confident and it happens to be green, then go with it. Your attitude is 100x more important than the color of your accessories.

grayish green.... it looks alright
its pretty obvious- is it closer to a Brooks Brothers suit or a leprechaun suit? Some dark/shiny green ties look great if everything else is conservative. Probably don't want to do something fucktarded like brown suit, pink shirt, green tie. Obvious.

I usually stick to red, blue and yellow for interviews, but you should wear whatever makes you feel confident and doesn't look terrible
I plan on wearing a charcoal suit, with a dark green tie, and a white shirt for interviews.
This combo works pretty well.

I swear this forum is retarded. It's not that difficult to choose something acceptable to wear to an interview. Yet they go on about black suits, green ties, and ass bras.
This is starting to remind me of the thread where OP tried to characterize firms with colors. I'm pretty sure if someone matched their clothing accessories with the color of my firm (whatever the hell that is), I wouldn't even notice.
1) He's not wearing formalwear to an interview, and
2) There's nothing wrong with wearing a simple, dark green tie (think textured plain or pindot) for a job interview.

As an interviewer for intern / grad positions, I don't care what your tie is like unless (a) it's ridiculously expensive (which means that you're a pretentious douche and / or don't really need this job) ; (b) some awfully garish colour (which means that all the PPT slides you produce will be horrendous). But please tie a proper knot with decent length.

I mean, what kind of green are we talking? That's like asking, is it good to drive a car? Well...yeah...if it's the right car for you. There's about 345433595 different greens, many of which wouldn't work, some of which would be great, and most of which probably wouldn't make a difference.
