Ask for ADVICE! Major in Advertising, trying to find a job in RA, is that POSSIBLE?

Hi Everyone,

Just read a post from 5 years ago on this site about a recent graduate finding a job in the position of RA.

I just felt so frustrated these days. I majored in Advertising when I was in undergraduate college. I had a few internships after graduating in the digital media agency. However, I found less interested in that at the end. I got an offer for graduate school in marketing soon. After a semester of Marketing graduate school, I changed my major to Management that focuses on Enterprise risk management. This is more related to the financial world.

I graduated from the graduate school this Summer and I finally found a internship in a investment company but it's because of my Advertising degree. The company needs someone to take care of the social media accounts and mkt stuff.

However, I was struggling to find a real finance job. After a few months, I finally got some basic understanding about the financial world. And I think Equity Research might be a job that I could do and I'm interested in.

Just curious that is that possible for me to get a job in Equity Research with a BA degree in Advertising?

What else you guys think I should do now? Should I go to a school and get a Certificate in Accounting to show that I have the basic accounting skills? I'm taking classes about financial modeling on BIWS.

Really ask for advice!!!
Thank you all in advance.
