Back Office at Midsized or Research Analyst or ..
I'm a junior at ivy league school. 3.3 gpa. Engineering major.
2 major finance related summer internships in Asia.
I got an offer from BB (but not GS or MS..slightly lower than those) and after finding out that I don't have a green card or citizenship, they declined the offer. (.....douchebags..)
As of now I have only one offer at hand:
Accounting and Finance dpt at a midsized French IB in NY
although waiting to hear back from several other companies (RA position in NY, SA in Asia and more)
Do you guys think I should rather go back to the country I'm originally from and try to get a better internship (FO internship) or just stay here and get the offer?
I can technically apply for jobs in my senior year, but I'm not sure spending my junior summer in BO will look good on my resume at all if I want to apply to BB for full time.
if your goal is to work FT in your home country, then go for the internship back home. Especially since you mentioned it will be FO.. its gonna be tough getting full time in the US as a foreigner
always go for the FO but MO/BO is always a good backup
I wish I knew how to forge documents...while I'm still learning take whatever offer you have. If you get a better one, tell the other firm that you have reconsidered your options.
