"Balling" doesn't have an age requirement. Did you watch Wall Street Warriors Season 1? Some kid got 12 grad for his Bah mitzvah and by the time he graduated college he had turned it into 1.6M

Greg Coffey is worth about 200 milllion. He's 38, but you have to figure he was making 10-20 million when he was 30. Also, Paul Tudor Jones was only 30 when he started running money and had five consecutive years of triple digit returns.....total baller.
"Greed, in all of its forms; greed for life, for money, for love, for knowledge has marked the upward surge of mankind. And greed, you mark my words, will not only save Teldar Paper, but that other malfunctioning corporation called the USA."
what does baller mean?
a met a few traders who make big money, they r just jerks who think anything can be traded for a price.
I don't know what "baller" means, either. Probably because nobody I've met in real life knows or cares what it means, either.
Many traders are very straightforward and direct- which can be pretty off-putting for a lot of folks. The good news is that you get their opinion raw and uncensored. The bad news is that that opinion often makes people want to cry and/or kill themselves sometimes.
Some traders are jerks; a few are sociopaths and proud of it (CC: "The Smartest Guys In The Room") ; some are pretty nice once you get over the fact that they are more direct than most people. Frankly, I think the proportions of jerks to nice people is about the same in trading as it is in research, IBD, and IMD. The only difference is that it's a lot easier to figure out who's what when everything is a lot less filtered.

its not because of the fact that they r direct that make them jerks. its becos they put price tags on anything that make them d-bags.

Apparently there is a 28 year old trader who left MS for $25mm comp at a HF
The most "baller" 30-year old traders will look like they're 40.
Yeah, John Arnold really looks like an old timer...lol
I'm sure the culture of the energy game back in the day kept him young...all the trips to Treasures and such.
Anyway, he's probably the exception...so I'll agree with McMo and go with "retired."
Retired

lol Tim Sykes.....
Yeah, by Midwestern standards, he looks pretty ancient. He looks older than my Dad did when he was 40.
Proprietary trading and the stuff that creates multi-millionaires in the course of a month makes people age pretty fast.
Tim Sykes is no baller.

Read the book "The Quants" by Scott Patterson. Ken Griffin and Boaz Weinstein were total ballers when they were just in their early 30's.
Lol @ Tim Sykes. http://gawker.com/302379/hedge-funder-tim-sykes-bombs-out-on-wall-street
Bruce Wesserstein was definitely baller during his 20's
