Bentley to AM in Boston?

I have started my first month at Bentley university as a freshman. I've joined the investment club and IB club and have started to connect on LinkedIn with Bentley alumni in Boston. My goal is to go into Asset Management in Boston and I have connections at MFS (Aunt is an associate). I wanted to ask is Bentley too non-target to get into this field and should I apply to Boston College or any other target near me? I know that at Bentley I will have to network 10x harder but is it better to be a big fish in a small pond at Bentley? or I am risking it by not transferring else where?

I went to Bentley. Don't believe what the career services have to say. Ask them the quality of the "jobs" the majority of students get. They just push students to get shitty jobs so their rankings go higher. I'd transfer out of Bentley to BC or Harvard/MIT if you work hard enough. Crap social life there anyway unless you're in a frat. Leave

If you could get to BC, that would be a BIG plus. They place well in IB and AM both in Boston and NY. Actual jobs that (it sounds like) you are striving for. The other thin...you just started college. It's great you're motivated and focused. Hats off to you for that. But try to get a bit more well rounded. If you transfer, maybe even a minor in a social science. Assuming you have other interests, develop those via ECs at Bentley or where ever. Seldom is life all about the biz 100% all the time. The top firms want super smart, well rounded people. Especially if you ever want to be in front of clients. You have to be viewed as likeable and interesting, not just technically acurate.
