Berkeley Economics vs. Haas Finance Opportunities
What are the employment opportunities inlike for Berkeley economics major? How competitive are they, and how inferior are they seen compared to Haas business majors?
I've seen a few forums where people say that econ majors get plenty of opportunities, but I was recently looking at the Berkeley econ major employment report and there were very few people who actually got. Can anyone shed some light on this? Also, what kind of jobs DO Berkeley econ majors typically get?
I'm thinking about going to UC Berkeley, but i've only been admitted to the College of Letters and Sciences, where I can declare an economics major. I can apply to Haas in sophomore year, but only a third of students can get in so there's no guarantee. I'm trying to understand if an econ major is going to get me anywhere. Will the Haas vs. Econ disparity have large bearing on my career opportunities?
