Best Hotel & Activities in London?

Hello,

Bit of a random question, but I am taking my girlfriend on a weekend trip to London during New Year's Eve. Never been in the city, so I am a bit lost. I was thinking about booking a nice restaurant for New Year's, any suggestions? Also, any hotel recommendations around £200-£300 per night? And if you know of any other fun activities for 1st time visitors it would be highly appreciated :)

Cheers!

Chelsea/Kensington/Mayfair/Wimbledon is probably the best of London; would recommend a hotel there, world class restaurants in all of London but particularly areas mentioned - Kings Rd (Chelsea), Ken High Street & Mayfair. If you want to do the classic London tourist things tho *sigh*: you probably want to be closer to central London - Victoria / Oxford St area.
