Best not so selective public schools for finance
What are good schools for finance that are not too hard to get into? Preferably ones that are semi target/ low semi target for companies.
Ik berkely, uva,ut austin, unc, uva, michigan, chicago are good but they are also hella selective. And i'm in texas so expensive for oos.
fordham,university of florida, texas a&m, washington state university any good?

UF is a solid school. Does well in the South and also has a solid pipeline into Evercore.
IU Kelley and maybe Penn State and OSU. Might need to be in IBW, NLF, Fisher Futures to have decent odds though. UGA has a solid pipeline into Citi.
Btw, Chicago is private (as is Fordham).
Are ibw, nlf, fisher futures hard to get in? I wouldn't wanna take a risk cuz if i dont get into the programs then theres no point
Also do you hace any thoughts on fordham? How does it stack up agains the others. It appealed to me cuz i might be able to go there for the same price as the others due to merit scholarships and cuz its in nyc
Washington State University? As in the one in Washington, the state? Are you sure you don't mean Washington and Lee University? WSU here in Washington kinda sucks ass and is NOT the place to be for finance
Agreed. At least UW has started to place better (to my knowledge) and they created an accelerator. But no recruiting in WA is very good, especially WSU

Kelley, Ohio State, Penn State, believe it or not Arizona State has an OK program, Arizona isn't terrible either, Michigan State is below average placement but FMI sends a few kids, UIUC places pretty decent to Chicago banks. Those would be the big ones, essentially in order w/ the exception of UIUC being an outlier since virtually all placement is to Chicago.
I’ve seen a fair amount of Rutgers and Baruch people in these kinds of jobs for what that’s worth
Arizona state, Wisconsin, penn state, Georgia are schools that are pretty easy to get into and place a couple of kids in IB every year. It's still probably an uphill battle and would not recommend
I'm SA in IB but just wanted to add in Wisconsin and stay anonymous. Someone else said it but we've been placing probably 30 kids a year to a variety of firms. Very few EBs but a decent amount of BBs and MMs and it's a very fun school that's easy enough to get into so it fits your criteria
