Best Option For Me

Hi everyone,

I am looking to break into Management Consulting. I am about to graduate in December with an accounting major (from a good accounting school, but non target for management consulting). I have an offer in Tax at Deloitte, and also an offer for a Management Consulting position at a firm called Management Solutions (https://www.managementsolutions.com/en). It seems they don't have much US presence but a decent International presence. It is hard to find information on their reputation and things of such, because if you google "Management Solutions" most things that come up do not have to do with the company itself.

I am wondering what job I should take in order to get myself into Management Consulting at a good firm. It does not need to be an MBB, but still a well respected firm. If I take the Management Solutions position I would be put into Management Consulting right away, but if I go with Deloitte, I feel that I could network my way into one of their Risk/Financial advisory positions, and then also be backed by the Deloitte name on my resume.

I would love to hear some feedback on what you guys think, and also if anyone has heard anything of Management Solutions.

Thanks!

OP took the offer so it's too late now, but I'm not sure I 100% agree. Tax and MC are very different things even within the same company such as Deloitte. That's like saying you won't have any issues going from S&T at a BB to M&A at the same BB; possible but hard. Recruiting for a certain job type requries skills for that job type so even if Management Solutions is a no-name firm, their strategy offering would have provided more tangible skills than Tax which could then be leveraged to T2 or MBB consulting.

Either way, best of luck OP and make sure you don't try to pivot inside of 12 months or it may stain your CV :)
