Best Path for Biotech/Healthcare ER/Consulting/IBD
Hello all:
Anyone have thoughts on moving from bio major/chem undergrad to consulting, IB, or research? Debating over directly going to MFin or Ph.D, knowing some shops like PhDs for the research.
Have you already graduated? If you're still a junior, for instance, your major probably won't really matter. Investment banks, equity research teams, and consulting firms will take undergraduates from pretty much any major, as long as they can pass the interviews (especially true for consulting). Getting a PhD won't help you much; even if a hedge fund/research firm prioritizes hiring people with advanced degrees, it usually just wants comp sci, math, and physics PhDs.
