Best site to learn more about internet startups and the "best practices"?

A friend and I are considering building a website to cater to a specific audience/industry. We plan on working on the site for at least a year to build/develop the platform. We have written up a rough business plan, but plan on detailing it out much more soon. We are unsure the best steps to take in regards to making it an actual company. We don't plan on actually having a beta site for another year, so is there any reason to make it an LLC or C-Corp at this point?

We are keeping our day jobs because this is currently a "fun venture/experiment" to see if we can build the platform we want.

Also, what is the ideal time to go to an incubator program?

Any good internet startup site recommendations would be much appreciated. I have read through what google provides, but any other insights would be great

 

No need to incorporate at this point, incubators can help with that too.

Best time to get into an incubator is when you decide you are willing to quit your day jobs; they want you full time on the startup. Also, have the product working so that you can focus on bizdev during the program. If you still have to spend most of your day coding, the program will be less helpful.
