Best Suits / Clothes for an athletic build
I've recently bought some Mizzen and Maine dress shirts and love them much more than the classic cotton Brooks Brothers shirts that make me sweat like a pig. I have three suits now, but am looking to buy more dress pants.
Anyone have advice on where to get some that aren't super hot and uncomfortable? lol. I've heard good things about bonobos.
I don't want to spend $200+ on pants if they're going to be the same stuffy wool blend, but will if I must. Help a brotha out.
If you have problems with sweating, i'd look for 100% Egyptian cotton shirts - Prada has them, for instance. They feel like nice T-shirts on your skin. Yes, they come at an expense, but it is better than sweating.
As for suits (trousers, jackets), I'd concentrate on material - should be soft virgin wool, or a virgin wool and silk blend. You can get virgin wool and linen blend for summer and mohair/cashmere for winter. There are places where you can buy suits like this at sub 700$, just look for discounts - buy things at the end of the season.
Again, for sweating problems, I'd take Egyptian cotton or Bamboo for socks, then you will be fine. I like Falke socks and Hugo Boss socks for that.

I'm a big fan of suitsupply and they have plenty of light / summer-weight dress pants that breath well and fit an athletic build. I also have a sweating problem and i'm athletically built so I have had good luck with their clothing. Mizzen and Main is great for dress shirts and sweaters, highly recommend.
+1 here, Suitsupply is a great choice.
I’m a girl, but I bought dress pants from Ministry of Supply. They also have mens pants made out of the same material. Way more comfortable than the average dress pant and the price point isn’t too bad.
If you are muscular, I have a few from this company: https://fathersonsclothing.com
they are good for guys who lift, very slim around the waist, good fit for arms and bigger chest
Bonobos athletic fit pants are perfect.
Depending on dress code, Lululemon has quality pants that are light, water repellant, and fit.
Check out State & Liberty. Created by former Hockey players. Great quality, super comfortable and stylish
Can't recommend Bonobos enough for pants, I've yet to find a better fit for that build in any other brand.
For shirts, you gotta try proper cloth. A bit expensive, but reasonable for something that's completely bespoke to your measurements. I won't go back to an off the rack. Most all shirts are 100-120$ and will last you a long time
I would personally recommend a light woollen kilt worn without under garments. Don't worry about the whole clan tartan thing that's just a scam we made up to sell overpriced plaid to tourists.
