Best Way to Break Into Growth Equity

Hello everyone.
I am interested in breaking into growth equity and have been trying to network my way in. However, without any meaningful contacts in the industry, I have been really struggling. I wanted to ask for advice on how to approach this, given the traditional cold email strategy doesn't seem to be working out for me.

FYI. I have an equity research background in one of the hotter spaces in tech

Tbh cold emailing is your best bet if you don’t have any connections. My suggestion to improve your cold emails would be to tick through the firm’s portfolio, figure out the types (company size, amt. if capital raised, verticals, etc.) of deals they do, find 2-3 strong candidates, and include those suggestions in your email.

They’re getting enough generic “I want to be in growth equity and have a background in XXXXX financial field,” emails that you need to differentiate.
