Biden and the VP Pick - Gretchen Whitmer?

I am sure there must be pressure on Biden to pick this person or that person but for me the decision should an easy one if he wants to become the next POTUS. He needs to win swing states and I can't think of a better way to win in Michigan than to pick the Governor of Michigan - Gretchen Whitmer. Picking people from states he will win anyway such as Warren from Massachusetts or Harris from California, does not make a lot of sense to me. We all know that age is an issue with Biden and Whitmer is only 48, which is substantially younger than Warren and 7 years younger than Harris. In addition, Whitmer has some leadership experience as a governor.

Who do you think he will or should pick as his VP running mate?

I think VP matters a ton in this election. A lot of people, warranted or not, believe Joe Biden is not mentally capable of being president given his age. His VP pick is almost as important as Biden himself. If he picks a good VP, there’s hardly a reason to really go for Trump outside of being on the MAGA train.

If Biden picks Warren old age has truly got the best of him. And this coming from someone who isn’t Republican.

I've heard the name Karen Bass thrown around, and she's definitely worse than Warren. I don't think Warren will be picked due to her age though

I’m a fun guy. Obviously I love the game of basketball. I mean there’s more questions you have to ask me in order for me to tell you about myself. I'm not just gonna give you a whole spill... I mean, I don't even know where you're sitting at

I think Val Demings as a black woman of color and a former police chief of a large city (Orlando) can really help to bring this country back together as she’s been on both sides of the aisle. She’s also from a swing state (Florida). Rather than dealing with crazy marxists I want Biden to pick a VP who has on the ground experience who is politically moderate. Also given her background I know she’d be strong to hold out the alt left influence from ruining the Democratic Party and the nation (questionable if Biden is doing this or not, he seems weak).

She is from a swing state but she is 63 years old. I just think he should bring in someone younger. I do not think the person has to be black. He should pick someone who will help him win and who could be capable of being the POTUS on day 1

I didn’t say the VP necessarily had to be black but the fact she is black, a woman AND a former police chief makes her a very strong candidate imo. As for her age, I still feel she’s competent to be POTUS.

Understand the logic but I'm so biased against whiny liberal white women at this point that it would hurt me deeply.

As the commenters above mentioned I think Susan Rice or Val Dennings make the most sense. Biden is going to win Michigan either way. Whitmer will rile up COVIDidiot boomercons and doesn't really give you anything in states like NC, GA, or FL.

PredictIt has Kamala Harris 47%, Susan Rice 32%, Gretchen Whitmer 10%.

I personally think Biden camp is still salty at the "that little girl was me" debate moment. In reality Harris is one of the better VPs that Biden can have - she has strong name recognition and that does a lot of carrying for VP candidates.

How cruel is this puppet parade though? Biden has had a such great career and is so well respected and is going to go out like this getting propped up and paraded around with precipitous mental decline mannnnnnn.
