BMO Bonuses Suck
The same bank that let go of 60 bankers a week before bonuses were communicated gave out shitty bonuses across the board.
Time to look at the other Canadian banks. People grinded all year to keep the bank afloat.

I can confirm this is true. My bonus was down significantly and many people in my vertical are already looking elsewhere.
Is AS1 base $150k in the US or do they nickel and dime you there as well?
It's $150
Have had recent personal experience in the Chi office and all of the discussion around BMO has been pretty far from my interactions with the firm. Is this mostly pertaining to NY and HOU offices? While I don't doubt the validity of the talks it's just polar opposites with my exp.
Have heard mixed things about the Chi office with respect to bonuses but this was from 1-2 years ago.

I am hearing that Scotiabank's bonus pool was pretty bad for this year as well, which makes sense since they are really big in lending.
Bmo is on the outs- its confirmed. Really fkd what they did to the folks in HOU right before bonuses. Really goes to show you should always negotiate for the higher base and never show these companies any loyalty.
Is negotiating for a higher base salary even possible at most IBs? Seems like base salaries/comp overall is pretty standardized across the industry.
It's rare that's for sure.
What? BMO had a IBD office in US? LOL Nvr heard of them.
Sick, bro.
Better targeting some euro bank with very few us hires next time

That's because you don't know very much in general.
lol well they never heard of you either
I heard first year associates got 60k and base pay held constant at 150.
$30k for stub bonuses for new hire MBA associates in NYC. Have heard bonus pool was cut pretty hard, but looks like I wasn’t impacted as this is the same stub as last year according to alumni.
