Bulge Bracket Commercial Real Estate Group

This summer I'm starting work for a bb in their commercial real estate group, specifically lending. I'm looking to learn as much as I can before I start work. I have experience in commercial real estate on the buy and sell side but I've never worked in a capacity that dealt with commercial lending. Does anyone know of any good books, publications or any other materials I can use to study and prepare myself? Thank you in advance.

Assuming it is CMBS, read a ProSupp from the latest deal your shop did (search EDGAR; PM me if you need help). Maybe read a CMBS primer before that if you know nothing about structured finance (can just ask your contact at the bank for this, they should have one offhand). Ask anyone you know who has gone through a securities division analyst training program for the CMBS study materials. If you reallly want to get into it, pick up a copy of Fabozzi's 'The Handbook of Fixed Income Securities'.

More on the real estate side, try to get copies of Real Estate Alert, Commercial Mortgage Alert, and Commercial Observer. These are paid trade rags so maybe see if your contact can send to you or if you can get through your school library or something. Check out http://therealdeal.com/ and http://commercialobserver.com/.

Congrats on the gig, good luck.
