Chance of getting HBS, Wharton or Stanford
Hi guys,
I am a 29y old Tunisian and I wonder to know what are my chances of getting a top MBA (HBS, Stanford, Wharton)
My profile is as indicated below
Education:
- MSc in Finance from top business school in Europe (dean's list, 3 excellence scholarships, board member of alumni association, reach assistant to a faculty dean)
- MSc in Medical Sciences from a Tunisian University (top 10% students)
- CFA level III candidate
- GMAT 770
Professional experience:
- 2years as a Senior Manager in a VC fund focused on high tech (mainly focused on operations role, held C-level roles and managed 40+ team, worked in 4 different coutries - Asia, Africa, etc) - strong recommendations
- 6months at a MBB, left early to join the VC - strong recommendation
- 1year internships in BB and PE in London
- 1year as a clinical fellow in Tunisia
Misc:
- Speak french, english and arabic
- President of an african charity focused on blined students
Goal: Get a General Management position in a Pharma Company
Very strong. I think the only challenges you will face will be writing strong essays: 1. capturing your story well 2. maintaining excellent English
A whole handful of things hugely in your favor: - strong academics - killer gmat score, seriously - strong professional background - diverse experiences and background (not many applicants from your nation, multiple languages, nonprofit experience) - solid recommendation - career interest (this is huge -- HBS loves general management applicants, articulating your desire to pursue such a career thanks to your varied and top-notch experiences in so many categories will really make you the apple of their eye)
I think you are essentially a lock for an interview at both HBS and GSB. Wharton ... doesn't buy into the whole story package the way other schools do, they tend to be much more numerically driven ... but it's not like your GMAT is slacking in any way whatsoever, and you have two MSc degrees plus two of the CFA exams under your belt.
Things look very good for you, my friend.
80% chance just my opinion unless you screw your story and essay
140%
Unless it's a personal goal to attend one of those three schools, you might be better off applying to other schools and getting a full scholarship. GM pharma jobs aren't that difficult to get out of the top 10-15. That's not too say you can't get a full ride, out of say Wharton.
